Description

Actor Russell Johnson died yesterday. He was far and away best known for his role as high school science teacher Roy Hinkley(YES! the character had a full name!), better known as simply "The Professor" on the TV series Gilligan's Island. A favorite of mine when I was a kid...and also now that I'm an adult. Love or hate Gilligan's Island almost everyone knows the show...at least people of my generation. When I was a kid I think the Professor was my favorite character. He was the smart guy. While I wanted to identify with the Professor, in reality I was probably more of a Gilligan...and I probably still am.
Anyway So Long Professor!

I'm sure i wanted The Professor on Gilligan's Island to design an experiment that would comfortably restrain Mary Ann and Ginger sleeveless arms stretched straight up overhead, side by side, and underarm tickled to see which one was more ticklish. Of course network television would never broadcast - to this day - underarm tickling. Excellent show concept - that's for sure.
