Velma Award Prototype

I hosted an art contest at a Scooby Doo/Velma Yahoo Group, and decided to create an award statuette just for the contest. I started in a soft oil based clay and when I got it as finished as the soft clay would allow, I made a silicone waste mold on it and cast up this piece in a two part hard urethane. I then carved, sculpted and even added more clay to this urethane piece until I was satisfied. I then used several layers of laqure based primer to finish. This piece will now be molded again to get my final hero mold that I will run my actual awards pieces from. The finished awards will have a gold finish.
