I was recently commissioned to draw some characters in a cute Anime style...something I don't normally have a lot of interest in, but where money is concerned I'll do anything short of personal humiliation or murder. Anyway, after trying to get a handle on the drawing style I found myself wondering how Velma might look in that style. As it turned out, I think she's quite cute.

Besides the fact that her hairstyle looks like she could butt heads with a ram and win, I really like it. Actually, at the mental image, sets me to liking it even more. Hee hee.

Okay -- this is MUCH better than the PNSD drawing of Velma. I like how you emphasize the hair over the exaggerated glasses approach by PNSD. I also like the color of the skirt -- it seems to be a better match. Maybe WB and the DTVs will get the hint. The skirt seems way to tiny, but that's anime for you!

she's cute. Actually, she is the character whose appearance lends itself best to anime, as she looks somewhat "Asian."
